Standard Room - La Casa S
Ngaparou · Petite Côte
La Casa S is a six-room guesthouse in Ngaparou, on the road to the Somone, on the Petite Côte, about 1 h 15 from Dakar. Pool, garden and terrace, air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms, and the option of renting the whole house for twelve: an address rated 4.7/5 from 18 reviews.
La Casa S is a guesthouse on the scale of a large family: six rooms spread across two two-story buildings, twelve beds, a shared living room and pool, a garden and a terrace. Each room sleeps two in a 160 cm queen bed, with air conditioning, TV, wifi and a private bathroom.
The house can be rented in two ways. By the room, for a couple or two friends who want a pool and peace and quiet without the hotel format. Or as a whole, all six rooms together, for an extended family or a group who want the house to themselves.
The basic rate is room only. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on request, at extra cost: so you can take all your meals on site, or none. Cleaning is included, parking is on site, and the house has a security guard and cameras. On request, the house arranges airport shuttles, car rental and excursions.
No parties and no pets here; smoking is outdoors, never indoors. Children are welcome, depending on their number and age: best to discuss it before booking. Check-in is from 2 p.m., check-out at 11 a.m.; an extension until 2 p.m. may be granted depending on availability. Staff speak French and English.
La Casa S suits couples who prefer a guesthouse to a hotel, long stays (you pay for meals as you go), members of the Senegalese diaspora on a visit, groups of friends and families who want a whole house with a pool, and Dakar residents coming down for the weekend.
The house is in Ngaparou, on the road linking Ngaparou to the Somone, on the Petite Côte. Ngaparou is a fishing village that has stayed quieter than its neighbor Saly, only a few minutes away by car for restaurants and nights out.
From Dakar, allow about 1 h 15 by highway: leave on Friday late afternoon and have dinner in Ngaparou. From Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), about half an hour, and the house can arrange a shuttle on request.
Nearby: the Somone lagoon, just to the north; Saly to the south; Mbour and its fishing wharf a little further; the Bandia reserve inland; and Popenguine, with its nature reserve and cliffs, to the north.
Everything below is less than half an hour from the house.
The Somone lagoon by pirogue. Mangroves, sandbanks, birds: an hour or two on the water, ideally early in the morning.
Jet ski, paddleboard or kayak. From the beaches of Ngaparou or the Somone — paddleboard and kayak.
Quad or buggy in the baobab forest. Two to three hours on the tracks of the hinterland.
A massage, and nothing else. The house has no wellness area: a traditional massage can be booked separately to round off the day.
A Senegalese cooking class. Handy if you have rented the whole house as a group.
The Bandia reserve. Rhinos, giraffes and buffalo in a morning.
Joal-Fadiouth, the shell island. Its mixed Christian-Muslim cemetery and its granaries on stilts, less than an hour to the south.
The Sine Saloum as a day trip. Islands, bolongs (tidal channels) and villages by pirogue.
A sunset boat trip. Or a morning of sport fishing, from the Petite Côte.
